What is a HUD Home?

When a homeowner cannot make the payments of a HUD insured mortgage, the home is foreclosed by the lender. The lender then transfers ownership of the home to HUD and HUD pays the lender the amount owed to it. HUD will then sale the homes at market value with the intent to sell as quickly as possible.
